Snow Days!

Hello, I haven't posted for a while but I have been having quite a lot of fun in the snow!

On Friday morning our school forced us to go in even though the snow was starting to get quite heavy. By around 9:30am the snow was settling quite a lot and the school was considering letting us out at 12:10pm. As I went to my next lesson, my teacher was kind enough to let us call our parents telling them that we would be dismissed early.
I ended up leaving the school at around 11am with my best friend Georgia to her house as she lives near to the school. The reception area at that time was so chaotic, students were showing texts to the teachers saying that they could leave, arguing with others about getting home..IT WAS MADNESS!

Anyway, so I went back to Georgia's house and we just messed around and played slender which was hilarious because we were so scared. I got picked up and went home. By this time the snow was at least 15cm deep (which is quite a lot for England!) and I messed around in the snow with my neighbours for a while.
Take a look at the snow:

On Saturday I went to my grandmas house who lives about 45 minutes away from where I live as we hadn't seen her in ages. She had as much snow as we did and it was good to see her again.

As it got dark the snow didnt seem to melt.
In the Dark

This morning it is still lightly snowing, putting another layer over the top of the snow we already had. Fingers crossed there will be no school tomorrow!

Just thought I would share a photo of my cat with a wooly hat on..
Aww hey Tink!

Comfy Jumpers this Winter

I think jumpers are extremely important for keeping warm in the wintertime, so since November I have been frantically searching for warm, comfy jumpers which are not too expensive. I have succeeded! Yay!

The first jumper I brought was in November from New Look.

The design is simply a white jumper with horizontal, thin navy lines going all the way around the jumper. It is relatively warm and looks good with both jeans or leggings.

The only problem with this is if you are thinking of wearing a hoodie over this then you would need to make sure that your hoodie has lots of space in the arms as the jumper itself is quite thick.

New Look £14.99

The second jumper that I bought recently is this neon pink jumper from H&M. It is a more baggy jumper so it wouldn't keep you as warm as the previous jumper but I thought it was a real bargain at only £7.99. In the photo you will see that the sleeves are rolled up. The jumper looks absolutely fine with the sleeves down, it was just my personal preference to have them rolled up.

H&M £7.99

Another thing that I like about the jumper is the fact that it is longer at the back than it is at the front. This is good for wearing it with leggings (no-one likes them see-through!).

Longer at back

The only negative about the jumper is the fact that you need to wear a vest underneath it. Even though you would do this if it was cold, if you wanted to reuse the jumper in slightly warmer weather, you wouldn't be able to as it is quite a transparent material.

The next jumper I asked for, for Christmas. I have become a big fan of David and Goliath clothing and accessories and this is the 'Pinky Swear' design. I saw it online for around £30 and ended up getting it from my Grandma. Thank You!
When I saw the jumper, it was much thicker than I thought it was going to be which is a bonus and the inside of it was very soft and VERY comfortable. I like to wear this with soft leggings and comfy socks for a relaxed day in. The only negative about this jumper for me is the fact that you cant roll up the sleeves which I like to do with a lot of the tops I have. The end of the sleeves are not very elasticated at all.

David and Goliath £30-£40
(Please be aware that this jumper has now been discontinued from the David and Goliath website and the design can now only be found on t-shirts)

The final jumper I also got for christmas from my cousin Lauryn. Thank you smelly!:)
It is a woolen jumper with a moustache and glasses design on the front. It is very warm and not at all itchy which I sometimes expect with jumpers like these. It is better worn with jeans as it is quite a short jumper but can be worn with thick leggings if you prefer them.

Not sure on pricing, sorry!
I'm sure these jumpers will keep me warm throughout winter and remember if you liked them I have said in the captions where to find them.

Thank you for reading my blog, hope you enjoyed it!:)

***Goodbye 2012!***

2012 has been a pretty good year for me.

The Olympics have been a great part of 2012. It also started off my obsession with Tom Daley!
Look how close we were!
The fact that I live near London just made it even more surreal and I felt that I had to go and experience it. Before I knew it my parents had managed to get second row tickets for the Paralympics in the Olympic Stadium! I was overwhelmed and couldn't believe how close we were to the medals ceremony. I felt so honoured to be there supporting Team GB. The atmosphere was amazing!

I have spent more time with my friends than I ever have before. We have tried to meet up as often as possible and whatever we do whether its going to the cinema or just simply going for a McDonald's we always seem to have such a great time and that pleases me.

Left to Right: Amy, Me, Georgia and Tara

In October I was lucky enough to get free tickets to the Radio One Teen Awards which is an event at Wembley Arena for 14- 17 year olds. We saw One Direction, Conor Maynard, Ne-Yo, Fun and Little Mix perform. The whole day was just amazing and it was definitely one of the best days of 2012. Next year we are planning to try and get as many tickets as possible for all of our friends to get the chance to experience it.
WE ALSO GOT WAVED AT BY HARRY STYLES! Jealous? Haha!

I had an amazing trip to Italy in the summer . Although it was boiling hot the views were beautiful and I had an amazing time in Venice, Rome and Sorrento.

Venice..ooo pretty!

Finally this is a slightly strange one but I have discovered the bigger world of YouTube! Yes I have watched YouTube videos a lot in my life but I became almost obsessed with a few YouTubers.
These include:
  • SprinkleOfGlitter (Louise)
  • Zoella28039 (Zoe)
  • PointlessBlog/PointlessBlogTV (Alfie)
  • MarcusButlerTV (Marcus)
  • ThatcherJoe (Joe)
  • dicasp (Caspar)

Now if you haven't seen any of these guys on YouTube then you should really check them out. Zoe and Louise cover beauty and makeup and the others cover a range of different topics but they are all amazing!
I have been forced to add that Georgia is Caspar's wife..

Louise and Zoe

You can check out one of Alfie's more recent videos here:

Thank you for reading my blog post. If you have got this far then it would be no harm to send me a comment saying what you thought of it and maybe if you liked it enough you could follow me?

I will just share with you this interesting photo of my best friend

haha sorry Georgia!
Thank you very much for reading!

Tom Daley: My Story [Review]

Tom at a book signing in London - September 2012

The cover of the book

Tom Daley has been my Olympic obsession after London 2012 earlier on this year. For a few months I was obsessed with the whole concept of him and would spend hours researching him on the internet. Then I found out that he had his own book and knew that I just had to get it.

The book has different chapters of Tom's life from his childhood memories to his first diving experiences. He explains how much training he has to go through to get to where he is now and how he was ready for London 2012. The book is very touching and touches upon a very sensitive topic, his father's death. I was almost in tears by the end of the book and felt so much sympathy for his family.

The book started off at £16.99 but can be found at cheaper prices now around £8.99 depending where you want to purchase it from.

I would really recommend buying it if you havent already as it is an amazing book and is truly inspirational.

REMEMBER: From 5th January 2013 Tom's new show Splash starts at 7:15pm on ITV1
:)
